About Me

Welcome to my creative journey! Here at Elizabeth Parsons Art, I blend the beauty of wildlife and nature photography with the delicate artistry of blown glass.

My passion for photography developed from a young age encouraged by my father, who was also a photographer. I then picked up a camera again in my early forties with a focus on photographing the birds and mammals on my rural Victorian property.

I developed a particular love for marine mammals and wildlife, which has given me the opportunity to travel to Baja California Sur in Mexico, west coast of the United States, and also British Columbia, Canada along with Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia pursuing both marine and land-based mammals. Recently I have also had the opportunity to travel to Hungary with a focus back on birdlife.

In early 2022, I gave myself a birthday present of a one day glassblowing workshop and fell in love. After completing several weekend workshops, from June 2022, I have been privileged to be taught by professional glassblower Nick Doran Adams at Ruth Allen’s Studio. I have focused on learning the technical aspects of glassblowing to allow me to move from making simple forms to making larger vessels with more complex colour applications. My ongoing glass vision is to develop the creatures I photograph into glass sculpture, bringing my two artistic mediums together.

My hope is that my artwork will show to others the beauty of these animals and highlight the plight they are facing because of damage to their environment.
